Epic v. Google: Tentative Settlement

On November 4, 2025, Epic Games, Inc. and Google LLC announced the settlement of their litigation. Previously, we discussed Epic’s August 2020 complaint against Google concerning the restrictions imposed on third-party apps distributed through its app store. Epic also filed a similar complaint against Apple. In December 2023, a jury ruled in favor of Epic in the lower court, and this decision was upheld by the appeals court in July 2025. In this post, we will discuss this tentative settlement, which awaits the court’s approval.
