We previously examined the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) lawsuit against Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta) regarding allegations of monopolization under Section 2 of the FTC Act. The FTC contends that Facebook, a subsidiary of Meta, leveraged its acquisitions of Instagram and WhatsApp to maintain its market dominance. On November 18, 2025, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued a ruling in favor of Meta. In this post, we will analyze the implications of this decision.
