1 The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is currently trying to sue Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta) for monopolization under Section 2 of the FTC Act. In the amended complaint from September 2021, the FTC alleges that Facebook, a Meta subsidiary, used its acquisitions of Instagram and WhatsApp to maintain market dominance. Notably, Meta's motion to dismiss the lawsuit was denied in November 2024. We can analyze the denial of this motion for insights into the litigation.
