The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has granted conditional approval for Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Co. (HPE) to acquire Juniper Networks (Juniper). This approval stipulates that HPE must divest its Instant On business and license essential Juniper software to independent competitors. Previously, the DOJ had initiated a complaint to prevent the acquisition. This note will address the complaint and the settlement.
